Visiting sick people 3

Imagem
Yesterday, I went to Pulido Valente Hospital once again. This time, I went with just two friends. They stayed together talking to one patient, while I stayed alone talking to another. But that didn't bother me, because the result is always the same: I leave happier than when I arrived. I learn a lot, not only from the patients, but also from visiting them and giving time to those most in need. It has also helped me to see what makes a person happy: caring for others. Even though we lost some study time, we gained a lot of joy and a stronger friendship. I hope to return soon.

Visiting sick people 2

Today, five friends and I went to visit some patients at Pulido Valente Hospital. They were patients who were admitted to the cardiology ward. We split into three groups of two and talked to one patient for about 40 minutes. They were elderly people. This isn't the first time I've been to this hospital: it's always amazing to talk to these people who know so much and have so much to teach us. What's more, whenever I visit elderly people and people who need attention, I always leave feeling very happy. And this time was no exception. The lady told us her story and we were able to give her some affection and attention, as well as distract her a little. It's an experience to be repeated, for sure, knowing that I never waste time but gain it, learning to be more generous.

Descriptive geometry classes 7

Today I had another descriptive geometry class. As I had done some exercises a few days earlier, it was easier for me to understand the material. I am increasingly realising what many teachers say: you just have to study. In fact, it makes all the difference. I have also noticed that, as I cover more material, the previous material seems much easier, even though it seems difficult at the time. Despite these advantages, the truth is that things are getting more complicated, which forces me to study more. The material is getting harder and harder. I will continue to work and learn from experience - whether because I didn't study enough or because I studied enough and got good results.

Visiting elder home 1

Last Wednesday, I visited a nursing home with a friend. Unfortunately (and to be honest), I forgot to take a photo. We were on vacation, so we thought it would be nice to donate some of our time to those in need and those who are alone. Initially, we thought about visiting some homeless people, but I got a contact for this nursing home. When we entered, we were amazed because it was very beautiful. The home was actually a convent in the old days. They gave us a guided tour, so we didn't get to spend much time alone with any of the elderly residents. Even so, it took an hour and a half, and we still managed to talk to one or two of the more talkative ones. Despite everything, we left feeling happier and wanting to return. Some of the stories told to us by the residents were a little confusing, which I think is normal. That's just another reason to visit these people. We hope to return soon.

Handball games 5

We've just finished another handball match. As we were on holiday, not many people turned up and we had to play a 4-a-side game in the middle of the pitch. Even so, it was spectacular. We learned a lot from Eduardo and Vicente, as well as the two Franco brothers. They play handball at a club. It's always good to do physical activity, and even more so to play handball. I was very happy because I managed to score two goals. I have noticed great progress in my handball skills. I hope to continue progressing at this good pace.

Playing football 8

Today, my brother and I went to play football again. This time, we stayed longer and it wasn't raining. In the first half hour, we practised long passes, and in the second half hour, we played 1-on-1 in a small space. It's a really fun exercise and great for developing technique. It's also very intense and tiring.  Spending an hour playing a bit of football is always good for keeping your football skills sharp and staying in shape. It's also a great way to take a break from studying. I will definitely continue playing.

Service 5

Today was my school day. On this day, the school usually holds an open exhibition, featuring work by students and teachers. It is also common to have football matches on this day. This year, I offered to help with whatever was needed. So, I helped my class sell some snacks, coffee, drinks, cakes... and I also helped sell books. In this picture, I am in the library, where are some of the best books for sale. It is always good to serve my school, and it is also a duty, because I should not only receive, but also give. We managed to sell many books. We did not sell much food, though. We are thinking of another occasion to sell what is left over.      I really enjoyed the day, and there will be more next year.
